Chemical Metering SystemsThere are a nearly endless combination of chemical metering systems, and many of them are perfectly acceptable to use with Proptec atomizers. We encourage you to use what you have or what you are familiar with, if it suits the task.
Proptec atomizers do not need pressure to atomize the liquid- they use centripetal force generated by the rotation. Because of this, the supply system can be as simple as a gravity-feed tank, or as sophisticated as one of our Accustaltic Metering pumps with a variable rate controller and feedback to keep rates constant. If you have a high pressure pump like a diaphragm or piston, you can still use it, but with some minor modifications. Give us a call on these.
If you are building a system from scratch, you should choose as low- a pressure pump as will do the job. if using metering discs or needle valves to modify flow, lower pressure will allow you to use larger, more clog-resistant orifices. For example, if your system pressure is 10 PSI, to meter 1 gallon per minute, takes an orifice about 1/8" in diameter- it's pretty easy to filter out big chunks that might clog that orifice. With 500 PSI system pressure, you may only need a .015 or .020 diameter disc- MUCH more clog prone. With orifices, bigger is always better!
Below are an array of options that will work well in conjunction with our Proptec and Penguin atomizers. For assistance with this, please call.
