Orchards         return to Sprayer applications

Orchards can be sprayed 2 ways using Proptec Atomizers: in a vertical tower configuration (at left below), or from over the top for trees under 14’ tall (at right, below). Mouse over each picture for a description.

Either way, you get BIG advantages:

Advantages of Proptec sprayers in orchards:

  • Spray 2 rows or more per pass
  • Spray faster- up to 5 miles per hour
  • reduce gallons per acre- more acres per tank
  • reduce amount of Active Ingredient you need
  • resist wind by spraying across and down
  • reduce drift and drop - keep the chemicals where you want them.
  • increase minimum coverage, reduce maximum coverage
  • other benefits

Productivity savings:
Under most normal circumstances, one Proptec sprayer has a net productivity of 7-15 acres per hour, including tankup time. In some cases, one Proptec tower does the work of up to 3 conventional sprayers! Your savings on diesel, payroll and equipment depreciation will more than pay for your new tower, in as little as 1-2 years!
