FAQ: Why does a Proptec Sprayer get better coverage than other sprayers?

Great question!

1. PROPTEC SPRAYERS HAVE MORE AIR THAN COMPETITIVE SPRAYERS.
   • higher air volume allows you to push spray deeper into the canopy, compared to other sprayer designs that have either no air assist or single radial fans. When spraying with a Proptec, it is now possible to push ALL the clean air out of the canopy, and replace it with spray-laden air. As long as there are enough small drops in that air, the coverage will be amazing. Proptec PT100 atomizers have up to 10,000 CFM of air PER ATOMIZER!

 

2. PROPTEC ROTARY ATOMIZERS MAKE MORE DROPS PER GALLON- OFTEN LOTS MORE.
   • Smaller droplets cover more uniformly than big droplets. As normally configured in agricultural applications, the Proptec atomizer will create a 70 to 110 micron droplet spectrum. this can be 8 to as many as 256 times as many droplets per gallon as are made by competing airblast sprayers. The smaller a droplet is, the more like a feather it becomes- travelling with the air. Big droplets travel like bullets, in a line-of site to the target, never pentrating deep into the canopy. Smaller droplets travel with the air to pentrate a canopy more deeply, penetrating flowers, fruit clusters, fronts and backsides of leaves. This means that you can spray at lower water rates if you want, without sacrificing coverage.

 

3. LOW VOLUME SPRAYING GIVES LESS DRIP, LESS WASTE.
   • According to the Spray Drift Task Force, dilute spraying can result in over 30% loss to runoff on the ground! Covering the plant more uniformly means less "over-coverage" and runoff from the tree. At applications 50 GPA and under, there is seldom any drip from a Proptec.

 

4. TARGET THE CROP FOR PRECISE APPLICATION
   • Proptec Sprayers are usually designed to spray HORIZONTALLY or DOWN on the crop. By never spraying UP, losses to drift are significantly reduced. The Spray Drift Task Force showed that conventional airblast sprayers can lose up to 11% of the spray to drift- wasteful and risky. In one USDA study, the Proptec Sprayer was able to reduce drift by a whopping 93%!
