Fertilizer Pumping and Application with Multi-Channel Metering Pumps

fertilizer metering pump with individual shutoff valves

Fertilizer pumping, metering, and injection are easy with Accu-staltic™ multi channel pumps. Positive displacement pumps, with a pump for each knife or nozzle, perfectly synchronized. So accurate, the pump is the flowmeter. Quit fussing and worrying about your fertilizer metering system, Accu-staltic is ready to work.

Able to handle abrasives, corrosives, acids and chunky materials without clogging or damage to the pump. Operates at pressures up to 40 PSI continuous with no backflow, depending on configuration.

'No' Symbol: First- What we’re not If you’ve been farming for any length of time, you know what a squeeze pump is. You probably also think of squeeze pumps as the low-cost, entry level alternative to higher priced piston-and manifold fertilizer pump systems. You’ve probably heard from your extension agent how they aren’t very accurate, and that if you want a real fertilizer delivery system, piston pumps are the way to go.

First- What we’re not

If you’ve been farming for any length of time, you know what a squeeze pump is.

What we are
Accu-Staltic pumps work like squeeze tube pumps, pinching a tube shut and pushing fluid forward, but that is where the similarity ends. Accu-Staltic pumps are extremely accurate, long-lived, low maintenance, metering-quality pumps. The multiple channel design gives each knife or injection point its OWN pump, so that gravity, clogged injectors, hose length- none of these things will affect the flow from one channel to the next. Your fertilizer will be applied uniformly across the toolbar. Once you calibrate your pump, what you set, is what you get.

Why should you care?
If applying fertilizer at plus or minus 20% accuracy is OK to you, then you shouldn’t care- we have nothing to offer. Stick with what works for you.

However- if any of the following applies to you, you should care- maybe a lot!

  • You are a variable-rate applicator and want to do better- wider range, better accuracy, etc.
  • You pump chunky materials-especially organics, fish or kelp emulsions.
  • It matters to you that the knives on the left get the exact same amount of material as the knives on the right, even on a hillside.
  • You know what the inside of your flow meter looks like- a little TOO well…. Maybe you even have a couple of spare flowmeters in the barn- just in case. You dream of a life without flowmeters...

5-Point Star: Accustaltic: Precise. Reliable. Rugged.

If any of the above describes you, then you should definitely stick around and learn more- we might be able to make your life a little bit easier.

Accu-staltic pumps can be ground-driven, but really are best suited for hydraulic or electric-drive, variable rate type systems. Because of it’s high accuracy, the pump IS the flowmeter- a simple shaft-pickup sensor on the pump will eliminate the need for any additional flow sensing.

Do your injection knives get plugged? the Accu-Staltic will build pressure on each tube individually and usually blow the plug out, without affecting flow to the other knives! You'll never know you had a plug. Worried about chunks in your fertilizer tank blocking the inlets? Nobody's perfect- you will have to filter out the stones, but with 29" of mercury suction(for comparison, 31" is perfect vacuum, like in space), all the soft and gooey stuff will get sucked in, mushed up, and pumped out.

Below, you can see the very high degree of accuracy between the 4 flows from a 4 channel Accu-Staltic pump. Why screw around with orifices, needle valves, check valves, and constant recalibration? Accu-Staltic stands for accurate flow dividing!
