Proptec Builder: Atomizer Type

There are 4 types of Proptec hydraulic atomizers to choose from. The type will determine the basic form and build of the atomizer:

1. Premium Duty
2. Severe Duty
3. Air-assisted and guarded for 6" baskets
4. Air-assisted and guarded for 12" baskets

Severe Duty

While Proptec™ atomizers are already incredibly durable, sometimes that just isn't enough.
 

The severe duty option is for situations where solvents, oxidants, strong caustics, strong acids, or heat dictate that no plastics or polymers can be exposed to the process.
 

In this version, the normal Polyurethane isolation mount is replaced by an aluminum and stainless steel version (see picture). A welded version of our atomizer basket removes the soldered joint between the screen and basket, which is a silver-tin-copper-nickel-antimony alloy. The solder is stable up to about 350 Degrees F, and resistant to most chemical solutions, but the welded basket extends the range.
 

Severe duty Atomizers are offered only in hydraulic, non-air assisted versions. To order, check the "Severe duty" option on the order sheet.
 

They are good for ambient temperatures to 900 degrees F. The hydraulic fluid must always be running to cool the motor, even is no spray is being applied, or damage will occur to the atomizer. It is best if fluid is always being sprayed while in process to keep the atomizer cool. Call for system design assistance.
 

If temperatures are to be in excess of 900 degrees, or if the sprayed fluid is not compatible with aluminum, an all stainless atomizer would be indicated. Click here for more information.
